Uptake Strategies recognised for outstanding employee wellbeing

Our thriving culture has earned our place on the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing 2023 list!

Back in 2022, we were incredibly proud to rank as the 27th small business in the UK for employee wellbeing. Our consultancy work with global pharma and biotech brands has increased at pace over the last twelve months, as has our team, and due to this we have now been re-categorised as a medium sized business.

Despite being consistently focused on our approach to the positive wellbeing of our team, and launching more internal initiatives over the year, we wondered whether our growth might hinder our ability to achieve similar success in 2023. We have therefore been both overjoyed and humbled to hear that we have in fact improved – achieving position 21 on the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing – medium sized category.

The UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing rankings recognises businesses which encourage a work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security, amongst other important factors. In our fast-paced environment, our talented team is kept very busy, delivering multiple projects across our specialist areas of planning, strategy, capability and launch, so we are acutely aware that we have a responsibility to take care of them.

Kindness and integrity are very important values in the Uptake culture. Our team is actively encouraged to attend wellbeing sessions, get involved in teambuilding initiatives, and connect each week. We offer hybrid working and flexible hours, to allow our people to manage clients in various time zones without ‘burning the candle at both ends’ and enable easier management of personal responsibilities. Many of our team are parents, so we often see school drop offs in our shared calendars, and for the dog owners among us, we’ve become accredited as a dog friendly workplace. We’re told that this level of flexibility and openness makes a significant difference to wellbeing, reducing unnecessary stress.

Our Employee Assistance Programme and private medical cover give the Uptake team peace of mind, while our buddy and mentoring programmes are central to a balanced working life. Our social and CSR committees ensure that there are always opportunities to have fun and give back.

This is another exceptional achievement for Uptake, and we will continue to be bold in the ways we support the wellbeing of our team throughout 2023 and beyond.
